Why a contour shape?
Flat pillows let the head tilt sideways, high ones push it up – both twist the cervical spine. The Melara pillow uses a pre-shaped contour instead: the cradle centres the back of the head, the raised wave supports the neck, and the side recesses give shoulder and arm room in side position. To be clear: a pillow is a comfort product, not a medical device – persistent neck pain belongs in a doctor's hands.
